Growing up in the good ol’ US of A, Sundays was the MOST cherished day of the week, the saving grace in a hectic school schedule. It was a time for all things social, and sleeping late after Saturday Nite Live. Yeh life sure was tough then! Now I live overseas where SUNDAY
IS A REGULAR WORKDAY
and a REGULAR SCHOOL DAY.
If you are a WAHM (as in working from home mother) then ’nuff said.. but for the rest of you -
The first few years I was all about joining the committee to getting this country to recognize Sunday as a day off. How can anyone be expected to get their children to school on time. How dare they treat us transplanted Americans so insensitively and expect us to… AHEM… WORK!
How does Sundays look to me now? Last Sunday my children, excluding infant, were all in school, and I am working in my p.j.s, when my door knocks. It is a postman delivering a present for my baby from the states. Yes mail on Sunday.
Ah… such bliss..
Today for example, another Sunday, kids were home due to a local holiday. We were all just finishing a virus - I had it the worst, and still feel hit by a mack truck. Hardly able to take care of anyone, I was a horribly neglectant mother, begging them to say YES to cereal for 3 meals.
Why was the idea of Sunday created? I cant remember? Perhaps by the TV networks to force children to drive their parents crazy enough to allow them to watch TV incessantly?
Well I am one pooped MOM on this Sunday so signing off..

It was PAINFUL for me to use that as the Title for this POST. PHYSICAL PAIN. Why?? Well COPY is another word for the text that is written in an advertisement, on a landing page for a website, anything where the goal is to create a higher conversion - as in turning more visitors or viewers into loyal customers or subscribers.
So for me to just write copywriting 101 is certainly not eye grabbing and ‘I MUST READ THIS’ material.
Yet I needed to fill in that blank category to the left promising the 101’s of everything, so here we are at copy :).
Copy is a funny thing. I can decide I DONT like a certain marketers style, yet I continue to open their emails, and I dont always open those from marketers who I really like! So I have come to find a few who I respect for their honest opinions, that dont shove every new product on the market down our throats, and also have a winning way with words. It is so hard to get people to both like you, trust you, open your emails, and actually purchase, that it is no surprise that copy, read good copy, can actually cost a FORTUNE!!
It’s funny how programming, design, etc. are the skills that you have to have real solid education to perform - you can be trained in copy, and you can always improve, but a lot of it comes down to whether you have it or not! Its like being a Model. You can enhance your looks, but imagine getting paid tons of money just for good genes! So too with an awesome copywriter.
Check out this Copy here. This is one of the most popular Ebooks ever. Cant you see why??
He is crass, he is funny, and he is irresistable!! He has also given birth to a whole new slew of marketers who use google adwords campaigns to say ‘DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT’ … only to have you be curious enough to click on why you shouldnt buy such and such product, and then click to see a sales pitch for said product!
Here is another sample of a HOT selling Ebook. It appeals to opposing emotions than the one above.
What you want to do is start collecting Subject lines from emails, headlines from sales pitches, anything that grabs you, and start saving it in a specific folder. This is called a ’swipe file’. People actually SELL these swipe files for decent money!
In case you are wondering - I actually bought BOTH of these ebooks above
Be back soon!

1) When you ask for critiscm, you are bound to receive it.
2) You may think you are super woman / mom, but your posts prove otherwise - you write ‘it’s’ when it should be ‘its’ you write ‘Squiddo’ when it should be ‘Squidoo’, and your family has NO clue what this whole site is about - AFTER visiting! I mean what does a video of a birth of an Island have to do with anything else on this site???
3) The more I speak with family and friends about sites that they work for, or sites of their friends, the more I realize how many simple SIMPLE tools small businesses overlook that could really skyrocket their business. I realize that I should jump with 2 feet into almost ANY niche market and have advantages over my competition…
4) Eat Bananas Daily - Apparently they are good for like every part of your body.
The bottom Line = This site will be referred to as my MUSINGS on how to Earn Online. I like to babble nonsense way to often to be responsible for something overly focused…..
Plus, I think that will draw in more readers
And earn me more money
So..

There are times you work, and there are times you surf the web while on the job. Of course if you are like me and you WORK FROM HOME, you dont get PAID to surf (like sooo many of my friends), and then you could have a very unproductive day.
However, if you choose to glean something from EVERY website that you visit, and as a result help improve your business, then you may be pleasantly surprised with the end results. Here is what I learned today:
1) Most important for you visitors, so I will start HERE:
Squiddo..
Not a likely name for a successful site. Their logo is an image of a tadpole of sorts?? Gee maybe its really a Squiddo and I have no idea what a squiddo is.. DUH
Yet they, along with MySpace, etc… are completely changing the way the web works. Now its all about the user experience. The first user experience style site was really Amazon. They offered readers to post reviews of the books they purchased, and of course, they offer this now for every product. This was such a unique feature at the time, and it has since given birth to soo many sites that people probably would give all the credit to YouTube as being the introducer of this concept.
‘Nuff Rambling..
